Before you start
Pick a quiet corner, switch off notifications and sit or lie down comfortably. Put the bowl on a cushion or on your open palm. Ten minutes is enough; the point is to do it regularly, not for long.
Minutes 1–2: arrive
Close your eyes and take five slow breaths. Make the exhale a little longer than the inhale. Notice where your body feels tense and let it soften.
Minutes 3–5: strike and listen
Strike the side of the bowl gently. Follow the sound with your attention until it disappears completely, then strike again. Every time your mind wanders, the next strike brings it back.
Minutes 6–8: let it sing
Move the mallet slowly around the outer rim with light, even pressure. The tone grows into a continuous hum. Breathe in rhythm with it. If the bowl rattles, slow down and press a little less.
Minutes 9–10: silence
Stop playing and stay with the silence. This part matters as much as the sound: it is where the body notices how calm it has become. Open your eyes slowly.
Which bowl works best
A medium bowl is the easiest for this routine: warm tone, long sustain and still comfortable on the palm. A large bowl gives a deeper, more physical vibration if you want to feel it in the body. You can hear every bowl in our collection before choosing.
